A low or medium pile carpet is the best for areas where dirt, pet hair or other possible contaminants are a concern.

Do I need to replace underlay when replacing a carpet?

Accepted Answer

Budget permitting, underlay should always be replaced if possible. We can fit new carpet over existing underlay, but for the best overall finish and durability, new underlay is recommended.

While a well-maintained carpet can last a long time, high levels of footfall mean a replacement is necessary at some point. The following issues will likely be a factor:

• Stains, unevenness and wrinkling 
 • An increase in allergy symptoms 
 • General wear and tear

What happens to my old carpet?

Accepted Answer

Our uplift and disposal service can oversee the removal of any existing flooring. If you choose not to use this service, the existing flooring will still need to be removed before our fitter arrives. Depending on the condition of the flooring, the subsurface may need to be levelled out too.
